Common Mistakes By New Casino Players In Craps
One of the most common mistakes that novice players make when at the craps table is to make field bets. While these bets looking appealing at first glance, in reality they represent one of the worst propositions at the table.
A field bet is one that means you’re hoping the shooter makes a two, three, four, nine, ten, eleven or twelve. This is obviously a large selection of numbers, however, the reason this bet is a bad one is because it is only valid on a single roll when betting online. Thus, if the shooter misses any of these numbers then your bet is removed from the table.
Buy bets can also be problematic because, as with field bets, you are narrowing your scope on each roll. A buy bet allows you to place chips on any point number of your choosing. You are then hoping that the shooter hits this number before they roll a seven end the series.
Making this kind of bet isn’t a huge mistake but the thing you have to remember is that if you win you’ll be expected to pay a 5% commission to the casino. Thus, while it can pay off making these bets, you have to use them sparingly otherwise you risk decreasing your overall expectation.
Craps might be a complicated game for beginners but once you learn the basics it’s quite a simple game. Indeed, formulating a winning strategy is more a case of sound logical thinking rather than some advanced betting system. If you can think clearly about the action you’re taking you’ll fare well at the craps table.
